DETROIT—Ultra Security has emerged from stealth with $10 million in seed funding and the launch of a security platform designed to provide visibility, governance and runtime protection for autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) agents.
The funding round was backed by Ludlow Ventures, Hidden Capital, Entrée Capital, Detroit Venture Partners, firedrop and FDVC, along with angel investors from the security and SaaS sectors.
Founded in 2025 by Chase Lee, founder and former CEO of Trustpage, which was acquired by Vanta, Ultra Security aims to address emerging security challenges associated with AI agents that can independently access applications, services and sensitive data.
According to the company, its platform sits between AI agents and the MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and connectors they interact with, allowing organizations to monitor and control tool calls, data access requests and prompt activity in real time.
“Agents have moved from chatbots to autonomous software with real access to real systems, and their capabilities grow daily while organizations of all industries and sizes try to keep up,” the company said in announcing the launch.
Ultra’s platform combines guardrails, governance, observability and connectivity into a single offering. Features include real-time policy enforcement, access controls for agents and tools, logging and monitoring of agent activity, AI-powered anomaly detection, and a vendor-agnostic framework designed to work across multiple AI models and connectors.
The company said its platform was built specifically for autonomous AI environments rather than adapted from traditional cybersecurity products. Ultra also offers a local-first deployment model that keeps tool calls, payloads and audit trails on customer-controlled infrastructure, while supporting remote-hosted deployments.
Ultra said it is already compliant with several security and governance frameworks, including SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001, and aligns with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and Agentic Trust Controls standards. The company is also pursuing FedRAMP certification.
