Border Security among topics at SIA Government Summit

WASHINGTON—The 2014 SIA Government Summit, hosted by the Security Industry Association, will examine some of the border security and immigration projects being developed in conjunction with homeland security initiatives, according to a news release from SIA.

The summit, held June 3-4 at the W Hotel in Washington, D.C., will feature experts from the public and private sectors who will examine several topics pertinent to border security.

Panels will deal with security programs with state organizations, the convergence of physical and logical security and a bipartisan biometrics bill in Congress, in which panelists will examine the intent of bipartisan bill H.R. 3141, which would implement a biometrics exit system for foreign travelers.

The summit provides attendees with insights to policies and market opportunities, and allows for one-on-one conversations with government decision makers about regulations and legislation important to the security industry, the release noted.

Participants can register through May 4 to take advantage of discount pricing, and SIA members can register for $550. Registration includes breakfast and lunch both days as well as the semi-formal SIA Public Policy Dinner.
