Mobotix offers free mobile video app

NEW YORK—Mobotix, a provider of network-based surveillance systems, is offering a free mobile video management app that allows users to access video systems remotely, according to a company statement.
Through mobile devices, the app accesses a data cloud, which includes high-resolution IP video systems and data storage. Using a streaming method, the app provides bandwidth-optimized compression of the data without compromising either important image details or a smooth frame rate, the company said.
By leveraging hemispheric video technology, the app allows the entire entrance area of the IP video door station to be viewed. The app is protected by a security PIN, and specific app functions can be customized so that they are authorized for some users and not for others.
