AMITYVILLE, N.Y.—NAPCO Security Technologies has released a major update to the mobile app for its Prima All-In-One Smart Security System, introducing a redesigned user experience, enhanced smart home controls and new Apple Watch functionality. Now available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, the Prima v8 app update features a modernized interface, streamlined navigation and performance improvements designed to make system management faster and more intuitive. Core functions, including arming and disarming, device control and account management, have been rebuilt to improve responsiveness and reliability. The update introduces redesigned security controls that provide users with clearer visibility into entry and exit countdowns, alarm information and sensor status. It also expands management capabilities for connected devices such as lights, locks, garage doors, water valves and thermostats. Additional features include enhanced activity monitoring and notification settings, allowing users greater control over push, email and SMS alerts. Prima v8 also adds improved account management tools, biometric authentication capabilities and a new Apple Watch companion app that enables users to arm and disarm their systems directly from their wrist. “Prima v8 represents a major step forward in the overall Prima user experience,” said Jim Pless, director of sales, security & smart home at NAPCO. “With a more intuitive interface, faster performance and enhanced control, this update makes it even easier for customers to stay connected to and manage their security system every day.” According to NAPCO, existing Prima users can update their current mobile app without downloading a separate application or reconfiguring their systems. User credentials, device pairings and system settings are retained automatically, eliminating the need to re-pair devices or rebuild accounts.
