Vegas, Here We Come!

Vegas, Here We Come!

At ISC West, everyone belongs.

That’s what show organizers have been saying about the biggest security industry event of the year, and from what I’ve been hearing, everyone and anyone is going to be in Las Vegas this week.

More than 20,000 security professionals covering access control, monitoring, video surveillance, fire safety, cybersecurity and so much more are gathering at the Venetian Expo this week showcasing the latest technologies and emerging trends such as drones & robotics, smart home devices, physical and cybersecurity convergence, you name it!

After experiencing my first ISC West last year, and seeing the plethora of security pros who were so glad to get back on the show floor after COVID-19 put a damper on in-person trade shows for almost two years, I’m just counting down the hours until I join my Security Systems News colleagues for three days of meetings, fundraisers, and corporate functions that will keep us nice and busy this week.

Over the past several weeks, Sales Manager Brad Durost has been filling out what is now a jam-packed spreadsheet chock full of appointments with the many manufacturers, consultants, integrators, associations, you name it, that we cover in our publication.

This will be the first ISC West for SSN Managing Editor Ken Showers, who is making the short trek from Phoenix to Las Vegas to join Brad and I for the show. If you see Ken on the show floor or at our booth No. 1103, say hi and welcome him to the world of security technology. It certainly will be an eye-opener for Ken as he attends his first security industry trade show, and Brad and I look forward to meeting him for the first time in Vegas.

Once again, I will be packing comfortable dress shoes to walk up and down the aisles at the Venetian Expo, and I will make sure to keep myself fully hydrated throughout the show, as I’m sure my colleagues will do the same.

In addition to discovering and learning about the latest technologies in the security industry, there will be invaluable educational sessions presented by the Security Industry Association (SIA) throughout the week. The SIA Education@ISC West program is offering more than 100 sessions on the most current trends, technologies and latest developments, all with the goal of taking your security “to the next level,” according to SIA.

Of course, along with the trade show and the educational program, the SSN team is very much looking forward to the Mission 500 5K/2K run/walk taking place on Thursday morning, March 30.

This fundraiser benefits children and families in need across the United States, and Security Systems News is very proud to sponsor this event again this year, along with the other companies that have stepped up to sponsor what has become an annual tradition at ISC West.

If you have not yet registered for the 5K/2K walk/run, you can still register by visiting https://runsignup.com/Race?raceId=82008. Sponsorship opportunities are still available at https://runsignup.com/Race/Security5KforChildren/Page-9.

Please stop by the Security Systems News booth during ISC West, say hi, and pick up a copy of our publication. We would love to meet you or catch up in person.

Can’t wait to see everyone at ISC West! Vegas, here we come!
